As much money as we are spending on the Mexican Border, time and effort, does any one think it is a good idea to redirect that money for stimulating their economy to diminish their need for having to come here to work???????
Mexico Border Money Allocation, are their other ways to accomplish the same goal?windows xp professional
I commend you for thinking outside the box. Unfortunately, the idea is not very realistic. I doubt many Americans would want to their money going to Mexico. Although Mexico has provided the U.S. with the valuable resource of a workforce willing to accept jobs that the majority of Americans will not do. One of the current presidential candidates, Roberto Madrazo, is using the platform of improving Mexico's economy to reduce %26amp; eliminate the need for its citizens to look for jobs outside of the country. The other leading candidate, Felipe Calderon, essencially wants to do what the current Mexican president, Vicente Fox is doing, trying to work with the U.S. to establish some kind of fair, legal worker program for mexicans. Last year alone Mexicans pumped 20billion dollars into Mexico's economy, reducing the sence of urgency for Mexico to create jobs for it's citizens.
No matter what the U.S. does, there will be outraged groups ready to complain about the decision.
Great question.

You want us to pour our money into Mexico to stimulate their economy?
All of the problems they have can be rooted to their corrupt goverment. What do you think would happen to our money if we dealt with that goverment?

Believe me, I'm all for anything that works. I have a lot of Mexican friends around here that tell me how hard things are there. I believe them. I also believe in legal immigration. It worked for my family when they came here from Italy.
well there seems to be a direct link between nafta and the increase in immigration..so doing away with that might be one start. which is funny since it was billed that it would have the opposite effect....oh well...
It would be far more effective to use some of that money and effort to crack down on employers of illegals (weekly checks on restaurants, at the Home Depot, etc.) along with BIG fines so that it's not economically viable to hire undocumented workers.
If there are no jobs, then much less people would try to cross the border (word gets around FAST to Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, etc.)
well i think that is not fair for americans to spend money in mexico just to improve our economy, i don't think that is fair that people in arizona's ranches are junting mexicans like dogs, i think is it fair to legalize some amount of mexicans working in the us, not all of them but the ones that really work
