I have a laptop with small storage capacity(only 40GB).however, i have a large external hardrive(120GB), where I want to download and store most of the programs I use.How do I make the external drive the default setting for all new installed programs?I have tried to "redirect" the path of programs to the external drive when I install it, but when I check it again to launch, it is still on the internal hard drive which "chokes"it,making slow boot and start up. Please advice! Thank you!

Usually all programs are installed on the bootdrive itself..i.e the drive where your windows is installed.. Setting up ur windows on the external drive itself may help to solve ur problem.. it's better to contact a technician for that.. it would be better
