First:

You may possibly have a corrupt cache file -- it makes all KINDS of things go wonky. Try this: clear your history, temporary files (these will take a while!) %26amp; cookies, restart the computer and retry.

If that does not work, you may have some type of worm, virus or other "bug" bothering your system. Use a GOOD anti-virus program to scan everything and make sure it is all clean.
