Why is it when i try to get to a web page i am either redirected or my computer freezes?

i have run 2 different virus programs and they come up clean.my problem is that whenever i try to get to a web page i am redirected to some other page-usually an advertisement page.i cant use my yahoo mail either.does anyone have any suggestions?

Anti virus programs do not always look for spyware/hijackers and the like. Sounds to me like you have a hijacker on board. You should download and run HiJack This and then post the log file on this or another board where people with experience can help locate and remove the hijacker for you.

That's a virus. Back up everything as soon as possible and then try running Search and Destroy or AdAware. You may need to reformat -sorry.
Sounds like you have adware/spyware on your comp. If possible go to www.downloads.com and download ad-aware se 6.0 and run the program.
Go into add/remove programs and delete the yahoo browser you currently have installed. After deleteing go into search and delete anything ahving to do with yahoo. Then reinstall yahoo browser by opening internet explorer and www.sbcglobal.net

its not a virus but rather spyware, and anti virus dont look for them to well. this free tool will help a lot. http://spywareterminator.com and this free tool will fix the registry errors left over from the trouble you are having. http://www.iobit.com remember to run the updates after you download them as with ant tool they dont have the lattest updates.good luck.

If problems remains then you need to get a program call HijackThis. You will need to run HiJackThis and then post the resulting log file on a website like the following where experts will help you to remove the programs that are hijacking your browser.

Hijack this requires you to do a little more reading/understanding of the process involved but it works very well in fixing hijacked browsers.

Also run "CoolWeb Shredder" at:

It will check for and remove another bad program "Cool Web Search" that is not removed by other means.
